5'9-5'10ish, haven't checked in a while.

And it's 20.1 totptube and 13.5 CS length if anybody is wondering.

fuzzbox 08-21-07 09:57 PM

One question, how do you guys ride with your seat post slammed all the way down if your above let's say 5'8''? And I mean sitting down and riding.

live4muzic2 08-21-07 09:57 PM

you dont.

jonly 08-21-07 09:58 PM

the seats just there to keep the tube from impaling you. and steering.

fuzzbox 08-21-07 09:59 PM

Yea, obviously, but I see people riding/sitting with it like that and it's impossible.

live4muzic2 08-21-07 10:01 PM

IF you have to have your feet all the way forward on the pedals and a big toptube.

fuzzbox 08-21-07 10:06 PM

Yea well, I'd probably slam my seat all the way down if I didn't have to ride my bike to the spots I ride, but I still think it's a big drop for people that height.

live4muzic2 08-21-07 10:07 PM

i ride like 15 miles a day and its slammed you just always stand really.

You are quite the funny one aren't you? Believe it or not, I do work on my bike.

EDIT: Seats aren't really for sitting so much. I would have mine completely slammed if I had a slim seat. The only time I will ever sit on my seat is if I gather up a lot of speed and just want to coast for a while.

fuzzbox 08-21-07 10:16 PM

I don't either....

MadMan2k 08-22-07 12:35 AM

It's not that hard to pedal with them slammed.. you get used to it. Or you can just stand up.

wethepeople 08-22-07 12:46 AM

I just stand up...

KinetikBiker 08-22-07 07:32 AM

My seat is just high enough that i can sit and pedal. Although i stand 99% of the time.

thermo 08-22-07 02:35 PM

I would use the seat on my Metric more, but it's just a piece of plastic and it hurts so bad I have to stand all of the time. I guess it's a trade-off between comfort and weight. And I think sometime soon I'm going to buy a new seat. I don't want a really heavy seat, definitely not over 12 oz, but I do want something that I can sit down on for at least a little while.

Hondapower06 08-22-07 05:57 PM

Here's mine. just a holmes classic with a bunch of other stuff. i'm looking to get a new bike cuz this thing is a tank

Kink Slim Pivotal with a Macneil Stump post.

thermo 08-22-07 06:50 PM

I will look into those.

EDIT 1: I'm assuming those are what you have? Or why are you recommending them?

EDIT 2: I looked at those. The seat looks good. Light weight and all. I sure hope it feels better than the plastic Primo seat I have now. But the seat post might not be long enough for me. It's going to be for my flatland bike. Would the regular Macneil seat post work with the Kink Slim pivotal?

FuzzyRyder 08-22-07 07:00 PM

Yes.

1. I don't have them but I know the pivotal set-up is very lightweight and looks soo nice.
2. And yeah, any pivotal seat should work with any pivotal post.

wethepeople 08-22-07 07:39 PM

My Aitken seat and 1664 post is lighter then a pivotal...
