Not weight, Hi-ten is usually lighter but it is much weaker. When you get better it will become a problem for you.

minichamp31 07-05-07 10:37 AM

I thought Hi-ten was heavier. But yeah, once you start jumping down big staircases and stuff like that, it will break much easier than chromoly.

FitRider 921 07-05-07 10:40 AM

Yeah, I believe Hi-ten is actually heavier as well. It's why my Fit frame weighs a ton at the rearend, where it's Hi-ten.

I found a coupon website for Danscomp. It's awesome you guys should check it out http://www.retailmenot.com/view/danscomp.com. So if i got the Kink Whip shipped it would be $328 with the 10% off, the 15% doesn't work. But with the Kink Whip i got the 13 month subscription to Ridebmx for $9.99. Then with the DK 6 Pack it would be $319 shipped. So its a $9 difference.

eightdip 07-05-07 10:41 AM

I used to think Hi-Ten was heavier but on the whole it is actually lighter unless the cromoly is butted, fluted etc.

Punx 07-05-07 10:43 AM

Which should i get though. I want the one that is lighter, i know the 6 pack is 32 lbs, does anyone know the weight of the kink.

Most chromoly things like frames, bars, and forks are butted though, right?

Punx 07-05-07 10:51 AM

Minichamp31, do you ride like street, park, dirt and all, i was just wondering because i thought you raced lol. But could anyone answer my question about which is the better deal? Thanks

eightdip 07-05-07 10:54 AM

Not always butted, my frame isn't.

I'm not sure about that, and I'm too lazy to look up the properties of the metals.

Punx 07-05-07 11:12 AM

Can anyone help me which i should get and which would be lighter the Kink Whip or the DK 6 Pack, Thank everyone that has helped, Fit, Eightdip, Fed3ral, and Minichamp31. Thanks!

FitRider 921 07-05-07 11:14 AM

No doubt, you should get the Six Pack. It probably is a little heavier, but it has a full cromo frame which is really important. My frame isn't full cromo and it's going to crack as soon as I start riding again.

Punx 07-05-07 11:17 AM

Yea, but i weight 80 pounds. I'm not going to be able to crack it. Idk why though, i don't really like the 6 pack, the Kink looks like it is a bit more stable also, like more newer. I'm not sure though.

FitRider 921 07-05-07 11:19 AM

I thought I wouldn't be able to break much either, and I've bent my bars, broken my pedals, bent my wheels a bit, and my frame is about to go.

Punx 07-05-07 11:20 AM

But you probably weigh twice as me and like a foot taller. Or i could just spend money and put it into my Thread 1...

FitRider 921 07-05-07 11:20 AM

How about this? http://www.danscomp.com/101425.php?cat=BIKES

EDIT: Actually, I'm only 5'7" and 125 pounds.

Punx 07-05-07 11:22 AM

Oh ok. 7 inches taller and 45 pounds more. Ehh, i don't really like the Stolen Wrap.

Punx 07-05-07 11:37 AM

In the Dan's Comp catalog i found the weight, the DK 6 Pack is 32 lbs. and the Kink Whip is 27.8 lbs. so its a 4.2 pound difference which is quite a lot accually.

FitRider 921 07-05-07 11:38 AM

If that's what you want, then go for it... I'm just telling you from my experiences that a full cromo frame is always a good thing to have.

I do race, but I screw around with some street and I was building trails, but I need a different bike. I didn't realize it before, but my Dyno is too short. I have my bars forward a little bit and my knees still hit them.

Punx 07-05-07 11:40 AM

I think i will go with the Kink Whip. But i don't know if i should get a BMX bike. Like if i'll regret spending the money which i do with a lot of things. I really want to get one, but yea. Thanks

If you liked it a lot before and you still like it, get one.

eightdip 07-05-07 01:25 PM

Go with what you want. Your heart is set on the Whip so go for that

live4muzic2 07-05-07 03:00 PM

i can do 360 on a bike with 16 inch rear rim and 20 in the front, but i cant 180 my haro. Just get a 20 like everyone else said and get it complete.

Punx 07-05-07 03:41 PM

I probably can, out of the little bowl. Ehh, i think i may just stick with my thread 1, i' mgetting better on it.
