frame info thread

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to make a thread about what frames are good and what frames aren't? Something for newb's to look at to decide which frame to get? I think it'd be a great idea since most sites that sell the frames have very little info about them and are sometimes misleading, i.e. chromoly main frame. Really means half of it is chromoly but your chain stays are gonna fall of in 6 months because they are mild steel. It'd be cool for people to post up the frames they've ridden and what they thought of them. I just think it would be alot easier then having to search threw a million threads to research which one to get.

i believe that this is a very useful thread and so i'll go first.

Haro Nyquist Two Frame- I used this frame for a year. it is a strong frame considering. I havent bent anything on it but it dents somewhat easily. it is like 5 pounds. what i hate about it- there is a indent for a sproket that could be 46 tooth. i am scarred to bend it there because it looks weak. also, i cant run small gearing and im rubbing my chain on the chain stay with 11-30 gearing. un-removable gyro tabs. The paint is very thick so it scrathes really easy

Pretty much anything full-cromo for a new rider would be good and that is thoroughly inforced throughout these forums. Sorry, but this thread is a bit pointless. Most new riders get completes anyway.

I think it would be great to get some good info on frames together in one thread since it looks like every 5 mins someone is asking which frame? or which bike? And on top of that anyone wanting to research a frame or complete has too look threw 10 of those threads to get any info besides "get this one it's a good bike". I just think it would be good to get some real info together in one thread to make research easier and get some info besides "It's good get that one". I was looking to buy a new school frame myself and was gonna post a which frame thread but decided maybe this one would be a bit more useful. Maybe not.

It's been done before. I hate to burst your bubble, but it's not going to work. It's may turn out to be a completely opinionated and biased thread about which frame is best which may even turn into a hatefest. Other than that, very few people are actually going to research this and find it useful at all since if they research, they can already find all the info about good frames which is already here in the archives of the forums.
