Questions about buying flatland bike?
I was wondering if anyone had some advice on what type of flatbike to get. I have seen many posts that recommend the DK Signal or the KHE Stylus, but alot of the people asking about it seem to be smaller size then me. I am around 5'11" and 170 pounds, and I am thinking about going with the DK Signal but I just wanted to make sure that the bike isn't to small for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm around 5' 11" and my bike (the Metric) feels fine even though it's got a 18.9" TT. On occaison though, the tip of my shoe will rub on the front tire when I turn, but that's if my feet are too far forward on the pedals. The DK Signal should be fine.

I know it isn't made for flatland, but it has most of the features that the DK Signal does and it doesn't really matter you can do flatland on any bike.

It's too big and it doesn't have a freecoaster, if you've never ridden an actual flatland bike, go to your LBS and try out the difference in the way they feel, the F3 has a 20.25 TT while the flatland bike I tried had around an 18.5 TT

Why does Ace even ask if he's not going to listen and buy an F3? Anyways who cares he's going to waste his money.

Wow a lot more posts in this thread now, but yea I think i am going to get a signal I found a bike shop near me that can order it for me. A lot of the other places are saying that they are sold out because the signal 08 is coming out in a few weeks. The DK signal 08 is going to be around $350 is what one bike shop told me.

well the bike shop near me told me that there vendor is all out of the signal 07, but he is going to get me the signal 08 for $300, which seems awesome since most places have told me $350. Even though I really wouldn't know a good flatland bike from a bad one, Ill tell you how it is when I get it.

Even if you reduce it to just being able to do flatland on BMX bikes (so no beach cruisers or race bikes, haha), you still can't. Unless by flatland you mean the easy flatland tricks like the bar-hop, footjam whip, etc.

It's ridiculous to say you can't flatland a bike that isn't specifically designed for flatland riding. Have you ever seen the movie Quicksilver? Can you imagine that there was a time when all we had were straight racing bikes and we still got it done and came up with new ****. I was a sponsored flatland rider for SE back in the day, and our dedicated flatland bike was crap, I'd have rather rode a Quadangle. Yes there are some benefits, but your statement at its core is just stupid.
Of course in the interests of full disclosure, I've recently decided to get back into flatland and just ordered a DK Signal. Regardless, I could still get on any BMX bike with decent brakes and hang with most of the kids on here.
