getting into BMX - oppinions on a few bikes would be much appreciated

word up peeps.
i've been getting into BMX recently (street/park mostly), and i've been looking at some bikes around $350-$450 Australian dollars (things are more expensive around here), and kinda need a bit of help choosing between them
the first one i saw is the 2007 GT performer @ $370
people on here seem to dislike gt bikes as a whole, but this one seems to have pretty good specs (cromo main tubes, 3 piece cranks, gyro) so i guess the only factor would be build quality and overall quality, which is hard to get an idea of just by riding in the store, so any thoughts on this would be good
the next ones are the 2006 DK cleveland and the 2008 DK 6 pack, both costing $450. THese 2 bikes seem to be very similar, but the cleveland has a gyro, which i would probably prefer. THese bikes are held in a very high regard, so the only real issue is the gyro, and the difference b/w the 2006 cleveland, and a 2007/8 model - is there much difference?
Another bike i was looking at is the 2006 DK general lee 20" at $430
i dont really know anything about this bike, so any thoughts would be really good
also, is there such a thing as high quality cro-moly and low quality? or is it all the same?
THanks in advance for any responses
