13 tooth freewheel
I'm changing my gearing a little bit, and I want to use the physically smallest gears for maximum clearance and minimum weight. Will a 13 tooth freewheel like this

The 13t freewheel will NOT fit on a normal hub. You NEED a flip-flop hub like this:
http://www.danscomp.com/426048.php?cat=PARTS See how both sides of the rear hub are threaded and how one side is smaller than the other? The larger side is for 15t & up, and the smaller side works with 14 & 13t freewheels. -Bill |
Yes, you'll need a flipflop hub. Honestly, since you'd have to buy a new hub anyway, I'd recommend just getting an Odyssey cassette - they come with 12-16 tooth cogs, or you could buy a one-piece driver if you wanted to go 9-11.
