Converting bmx to fixed gear
The only problem I have is trying to extend the fork to make it longer so that I can put straight handlebars on there. Any advice would be greatly appreciative.

Tig welder and some japanese cromo.
|
What's so good about Japanese chromoly? I noticed in the specs for some frames it will say "Japanese Sanko chromoly tubing."
|
Sanko was top of the line at one time.

will you be running bmx wheels or larger? it's totally possible to just lock up a freewheel cog on a stock bmx wheel and have a "fixed gear". i don't think the rear triangle on a 20" bmx is large enough to slap 27" wheels on either
*edit: as far as the tubing, it's best to scab onto the forks with the same material. it'll weld better than using 2 different grades of steel together. cheers |
Please dont.

Why the heck do you need straight bars?
|
I went fixed gear on my BMX for a while
bought a cog on ebay took old one off put new one on tightened down by pedalling ..... sketchy without foot retention though and please keep a front brake on there |
