Converting bmx to fixed gear

The only problem I have is trying to extend the fork to make it longer so that I can put straight handlebars on there. Any advice would be greatly appreciative.

Tig welder and some japanese cromo.

What's so good about Japanese chromoly? I noticed in the specs for some frames it will say "Japanese Sanko chromoly tubing."

Sanko was top of the line at one time.

will you be running bmx wheels or larger? it's totally possible to just lock up a freewheel cog on a stock bmx wheel and have a "fixed gear". i don't think the rear triangle on a 20" bmx is large enough to slap 27" wheels on either

*edit:

as far as the tubing, it's best to scab onto the forks with the same material. it'll weld better than using 2 different grades of steel together.

cheers

Why the heck do you need straight bars?

I went fixed gear on my BMX for a while

bought a cog on ebay
took old one off
put new one on
tightened down by pedalling
.....

sketchy without foot retention though
and please keep a front brake on there
