its 25-9. a lot of people ride that for street. or you could even go down to a 22/23-8, but you can really only find an 8t driver on a profile or madera hub.

Why would one be sketch about a 9t?

I just like the look of micro gearing. Not to mention the fact that you get better chainwheel clearance as well as a little less metal on the bike.

9 tooths blow up alot quicker, and they wear out and snap chains significantly faster.

The smaller you go, the weaker the driver gets.
I don't see how anyone could possibly NEED an 8t driver for anything.

you dont, the only thing i could see it being usefull for is flatland, if you ride street park or dirt and ride fast you shouldn't be riding anything lower then a 10, and for sprockets it all depends on how fast you want to go, 28 is the standard, but i plan to and alot of people go up to a 30 10 and you can haul asss.

it all depends on your riding style. you dont need to be pedaling balls to the wall to hit a 12 stair rail. or some manual pads. it just all depends on what you ride. and yea i do ride street. i just do a lot of the slower type stuff. unless im gonna do wallrides, which the runup for the wall i hit is downhill.
