Durango BMX state qualifiers
I shot a state qualifier race in Durango, CO this morning - here are some of my favorites. Their track is really well designed and maintained and the racers were making it easy for me to get good stuff today.
My computer doesn't want me to connect to my ftp server, so hopefully the attachments work.
So is anyone here currently racing BMX? I'm not, I don't even ride that much anymore, but I'm trying to make some money selling prints by shooting the races around here. It looks like fun, but the good racers make it look a lot easier than it is too. Maybe I should get a racing bike and not tear it up by riding it everyday and doing tricks like I did to the DK I had.

Yeah, unforunately I don't think there are too many tracks in Canada.

I'm going to try racing for the first time tomorrow night. I'll probably lose, but hopefully I won't eat ****.
I guess you're not required to have brakes on your bike, so mine will work. And I'll borrow a helmet. I'll also try to get someone to shoot a photo of me, haha

I didn't actually ride, the guy who was going to bring a helmet for me to borrow forgot and there were a lot of new people there so I shot photos instead. I'll race on tuesday if possible, though.
Actually, I should really buy my own helmet and wear it when I ride the skate park, too. I don't have any good excuses not to.
troy-audi0 - Yeah, it is a pretty cool track. You should have fun. If you see me there, say hi if you want. I'll be the guy with the camera and the blue/white hat.

Well, I raced today. I made it to the main because the fastest rider let me and the other people win, but I came in last there. It was fun, though, I'll try to do it again sometime.

Cool. What did you think of the track?
I didn't make it there yesterday. Probably next Sunday, and/or Wednesday.

I raced today in Aztec - got a third place ribbon! There were only 3 riders in the main though, and I might not have got to the main if one guy hadn't sat the race out because his ankles hurt.
I got a kid to shoot some pictures with my camera.
I'm not that good at the gates yet. I stayed behind the guy who I'm right next to even though I could have pedaled harder on the first straight, because I didn't want to crash as he passed me when I slowed down.
Those bars look kind of short, don't they? But I'm used to them and wide ones feel terrible now.

looks fun dude. there used to be a track like 15 min away from me, but they tore it down, rebuilt it, and posted a sign saying that it was now for dirtbikes only. i was pissed cause id never really raced, but always wanted to. just always looked like fun.

Way to go Madman. Those bars are realllllllly narrow. And I realized tonight how hard gates were without clips.
