Pivotal seats

I'm thinking of getting rid of my old primo hemeroid and micro ajust seat post for a pivotal design. This should shead nearly a pound and a half off my bike and i won't have to worry about stripping the seat guts anymore. What are your thoughts on the quality of the pivotal seats themselfs? can they take a beating?
It looks to me like all the seats out there are all coming from the same supplier just with different covers so, brand names make little difference to me.
Just wanted some experianced veiws before i pull the trigger on this.
thanks.

yes, they are all about the same with different amounts of padding. the only problem i have seen with pivotal seats is that, after a few hard landings, they tend to bend and get that "limp" look.

the Animal and Primo pivotal seats look REALLY nice.

I have had my pivotal seat and post for around 2 months.
It hasn't been any different works fine and hasn't broke.
I have a free agent seat which looks a lot like a macneil i got for $20 since mine was stripped and i have a federal slammed post.

thanks for the input i just made my order. I got the redline seat, looks like it has more padding and the tear resistant edges.
i will let you know how i make out with it.

Pivotal seats make adjusting my seat so much easier and it looks clean.

I like the new posts with the internal clamp thing. Makes it look cleaner.

What post did you order?

I got the poverty post. The whole set up with the post cut (about 20mm cut off) weights in at 13.1 oz
i shaved off 28 oz. from my old set up

The seat is super comfy but, the quality compared to my primo is way less. Only time will tell if this seat will handle the abuse.
One big down side is that there is no for and aft ajustment so it is where it is.

I looked at the posts that have the wedge built in and came to the conclusion that they are infact very heavy for there size. if you where to cut down any of the other posts and use a 0.8 oz seat post clamp the whole set up would be less then the one with the built in wedge. Not on;y that but i know for a fact that that wedge design is prone to jaming in place and wobbling at the top, causeing a creeking sound.
