26" BMX Frame?
I am interested in building a single speed MTB/BMX bike to ride, and I am wondering if such a frame exists. I don't need anything race quality, just decent quality.

They are out there, but they are gonna be spendy. Sycip, Fireman's, Volume all made or make 26's. Not sure about finding a frame and fork cheap though.

http://www.thursdaybicycles.com do a 26", they're spendy also but sound pretty special. I was tempted to get one a while ago just for mucking around on but shipping to Australia would be prohibitively expensive

SE Bikes has a few, but they're pricey.

WHat about a dirt jumper style bike?
Most manufactures make a 26" wheel dirt jump style bike... http://share.cramey.com/pimpind/inde...redsize=resize thats mine... |
I have looked at the links you guys sent out, and now I have started to look at a single speed 29" as I am 6'1" and it would be fun to ride a bike of that size. It sees the basic models are $400-500.
I also found a Sheldon Brown article on building up a single speed MTB with a full discussion of the ups and downs of frames, tensioning the chain, and choosing the gear ratios. Pretty good, but makes me want to buy one more than build one. The Dirt Jumper sure looks sweet. |
you might be able to use the surly instagator as a bmx bike
