My new bmx
Hi there i recently finished building my race bmx only to find out that you cant sit on
bmx bikes, as there made for standing, my foot will not reach the back pedal making me unable to pedal my bike.
This is a big blow for me as i cant return the
parts,
do you think that making the seat higher will do the job? (i only have a stump at moment)
is there any other way?
My frame is volume ends
my forks are volume genesis
my handle bars have 8" rise
i am using we are the people cranks
20" race wheels
thanks
john

I'm pretty sure he means that when he sits on the seat with it slammed, his legs won't bend enough to pedal a full circle. That's hardly surprising...
Why did you buy a race BMX if you have no intention of racing BMX?
If you want to sit and pedal you can either raise your seat (new seat post) or shorten your cranks (new cranks); either will involve throwing even more money at a bike that's still completely unsuitable for whatever exactly it is you want to sit down and do.

You shouldn't even ride a bike if this is the case.

You guys could try to be a little more helpful instead of being (insert adj. here)? Yea.
Anyways, why cant you pedal in a full circle? How tall are you? Im 6'2 and i can still pedal my 20'' sitting down. Show us some pics of what you mean, or describe your problem better. Or both
Pics really do help though.

Slammed just means you can't get it any lower. It isn't some quantitative measurement. If his frame has a shorter distance from the top tube to the bottom bracket than yours does, then his slammed is going to be lower than your slammed. Stop and think for a second before you go spouting off, jesus.

You asked why he couldn't pedal in a full circle sitting down. The most obvious explanation is that his seat is too close to his bottom bracket; he already proposed a solution to this in his original question. Until the OP actually bothers to come back with clarifications and/or pictures, all we can do is assume things. Why are you so riled up?
