Is something holding the valve open?
|
Take the tire off and check the liner of the it. Also, check the rim to see if there are any burrs on it.
|
hello as i said i have the recent inner tube that i fort kept going flat but it has not so it cant be a puncher or anything im getting really confused at this point!:twitchy:

Maybe some small piece of grit got stuck on the valve seat when it was on your wheel, but when you took the tube off and pumped it up, the grit got blown off so now the valve is sealed properly.
Maybe... |

^ Yeah, you're right. I didn't read the original post properly. I thought the other one is fine and he's just puzzled about the one that's been taken out.
Hmmm... if he's using the same valve cover, I'd check what's underneath... just in case something is pushing the valve slightly. It's a mystery alright... unless his riding mates are pulling a practical joke behind his back. . |

Air the tube up and dip it in some water and check for bubbles. If their is bubbles their is something stuck in the tire.
If not someone is letting air out or your tire has just been sitting their for a while. If its not that you may have gotten a faulty tube which is rare. |

but this tyre take at least 5 days to go unriderble flat..

I say do what a couple previous people have said:
1. check your valve cap for debris, and check that the valve stem is tightened up. Yes I read the op but bear with me. 2. Check your tube for holes by filling a bucket with water, putting the inflated tube in, and checking for air bubbles. If you inflate the tube while not inside the wheel you wont be able to get close to the types of pressures that most people ride at. This means a leak may only occur whilst installed. 3. Check the liner in your wheel and make sure it's intact. Check that no spoke-ends are poking out and hitting the tire. Check for junk stuck in the tire itself, basically if there's a sharp part anywhere, it can do damage. This is what I feel to be a comprehensive list of what could be causing your problem. If you check all this, and it seems okay then you're being given the runaround by somebody. Good luck. |
and if you have multiple tires going flat, like you are, check to see if all (if any) holes are in the same spot. thats when you know that theres something wrong with the rim/rimstrip. otherwise its just faulty tubes

^ Good call SR.
That's why I always install my tubes in the same place in relation to the tire (valve next to the tire logo). That way if I do get a puncture, it easy to check roughly where abouts an embedded splinter might be. My son's BMX had repeated slow flats which drove him up the wall. Turned out to be a small steel wire embedded diagonally in the tire, just like a splinter. You can't see it by eye but knowing roughly where it should be I was able to "feel" it - then took it out with tweezers and a magnifying glass. . |
I had a thorn on the inside of my tire once. I checked the liner like 3 times and couldn't find anything, and after I went through like 2 or 3 tubes, I checked again and actually found it. That's my interesting story.
