You know what's funny? I didn't really use all racing parts on my bike. My bars, cranks, and wheels could be used on a street/trails bike.

not us that only have the cash for one bike. I know this guy at my High School that has an all black WTP with fingernail sized holes all thru the top tube. looks like a freaking gun, but apparently he has to replace his whole frame like 3 times a year. damn those guys whose parents make 100g+ a year each

Lots of roadies in the 70s and 80s did the speed holes thing, especially on brake levers, rear derailleur cages, and sometimes chainrings. Never on frames though, that's just a recipe for disaster.

Probably not in BMX, no. In that era of road cycling, before the advent of carbon fiber componentry, it was arguably worth it. Since things like derailleurs and brake levers aren't load-bearing, the strength of them doesn't really matter, and those few grams can make a difference when you're going up the side of a mountain.
Even in road cycling it's no longer a popular method of weight reduction, though, since carbon fiber tends to crack and/or break when you put holes in it.

Theres some F1 teams , using a clear with some CF "sublock" ... I'm sure, you *can* get you hands on some of it . It'll porly cost ya 1,000 $ for a model paint glass jar size.

profile cranks 180mm i think theyre too long so i added spacers?
no seat or back wheel yet.
i think its prett heavy already around 15-20 pounds.
