there really is no difference besides skate shoes have alot of reinforcement around the toes for ollies......I ride in my old school Vans Cab 6s....some guys buy new shoes all the time but I strongly suggest whatever you can afford that feels good...and lots of ankle padding towards the top of the shoe for comfort

depends really i mean if ur jsut starting out like u said theres no point in buyin 70- 100 dollar shoes it will not make u any better but ilke if ur getting hardocre into it it just helpes u have better grip thats all really and some support ur ankle

well i have dc ratios and they ROCK but they were like 160 so about 85 pounds and skate shoes and bmx shoes SKATE SHOES DONT HAVE AS MUCH GRIP BECAUSE U DONT NEED IT ON BMX SHOES U DO CUS OF THE PEDALS

I use DC shoes for riding. They feel the same as vans but where I live, DC's are cheaper.

get the orchid vandever shoes, a pure bmx biking shoe. Good grips, very comfortable on the inside. The material of the shoe is good.
