Nice job
Great pictures |
Why are your bars so far forward? And what is with the Diamondback ordeal? Looks good. That'd be a cool race frame. Almost looks like the Intense Podium style.

Almost looks like the Intense Podium style. also, i always ride my bmx standing on the pedals and its really uncomfortable to ride standing when the bars are bent backwards or are upright. thanks for reading and posting by the way. |
why did you waste you time and do all that effort on some piece of **** bmx?

well he could have spent some of that on a better frame to paint. it looked like garbage before and after, i'm sorry. No amount of paint makes a walmart bike look good.

I think you did a great job on the paint job and customization. |
You did a really good job on the paint. Having painted a few bikes myself, I know it's hard to have the patience to get good results. You did well. I am also puzzled by the Diamondback thing though.

I really like that color blue.

Bike looks great man, don't worry about those who had a sip of HATERADE and bash you on it. That Diamondback theme probably did looks the best for it. Sure looks better than a GT or those other fad companies out. I also like it you put together the bike with basically bargain bin diamond back parts. I will like to share with you some pictures of my christmas present for my younger sibling.
I have made just last year with his 1999 Diamondback Assault EX. Basically I tried to find all the parts that was from 1998 to 2000 bmx parts and make it as cheap as possible yet look just like the 1999 Diamondback Assault Team which his idol racer Robert McPhearson has raced and give it a little twist to it. Boy, let me tell you finding these midschool parts were a bit tough and was a lot of digging through bargain bins in local bike shops and attic digging for some of my old parts too. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...t/PICT0903.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/PICT0905.jpg some giant mountain bike seat for 15.00 in a Bargain bin. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/PICT0906.jpg ox industries sprocket, dead company circa of 1999. rare Profile race crank circa of 1999 http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/PICT0909.jpg Standard strip bars with diamondback sticker. I had the bars laying around and the stem was a Powerlite P-nut http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/PICT0910.jpg Shimano Deore, with Avid brake lever these were found in a bargain bin. Again, nice job on the bike. |
yeh dont mind the haters, good job mate :thumb:

That's a good job you've done on that bike. Is it the first bike you've worked on? The first bikes I worked on, when I was a teenager, didn't come out as good as that.
I would say you should always take the bike apart as far as possible, when painting it. As its a hassle keeping the bits you don't want to paint, out of the way. As for it being a low end bike. Well its got a bit of style about it. It doesn't look like a builders truck has crashed in the road, and they've welded all the scaffolding poles together, as they lay in the street. As some bikes do. :/ Ive got a couple of bikes that are a bit higher quality than that. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps64bc87cd.jpg A GT Interceptor. I got it from the scrap yard for a few pounds, did some work on it. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps46cf75f4.jpg A Haro F2 BMX. Same as the GT, bought for a few pounds and done up. Probably cost me £10 a bike. I was thinking of selling them. Ive been looking on ebay, but think its a bit of a hassle to post a bike. And Gumtree or FB selling pages just bring dreamers that want to swap a mobile phone or something, for the bike. So there are "better" bikes available, at a good price. Its just how to find them.
