Does anyone have a diagram like this? I would just like to take a look at it.

Check www.bmxtrix.com -> how-to -> fix your bike -> rear wheel/freecoaster

There are tons of photos including all the parts laid out and all of them together.

My cousin wants to know if he can take his coaster brake and make it into a freecoaster. He wants to "show off" to his little friends. So is this possible? I told him that it probably cant happen.

Many coaster hubs can be converted, but they are unreliable and can be downright dangerous if it is a cheap coaster brake hub - which most are. The Suntour and some of the old Bendix hubs were used because the hub & clutch assembly was incredibly durable.

For a go at it, you can just pull the brake pads out of the hub you are riding currently, and look for a washer that fits onto the stationary driver. Even that is not 'mandatory'. You could just pull the brake pads out and see how it rides. Usually there is a pretty big gap between when you start to pedal and the hub engages.

Now, because many coaster brake hubs use a spring that pushes the clutch against the inside of the hub, then that spring FORCES engagement of the clutch. Basically, that means your hub won't work correctly as a freecoaster. But, you can give it a try.

Last person I spoke to who did what you are trying was thrilled for a little less than a week and then his hub blew up on him and was completely broken and unusable.

If you seriously want a freecoaster, get a Nankai from www.flatlandfuel.com and build it up.

Oh no, I have 6 bikes and 1 is my cousins and I was bored. I just want to do it for fun. (Just like the left and right side drive bike) I have lots of money to blow so it was a thought.
