Kink launch 2012 hi-ten frame?
I would just love to know why hi-ten steel is so bad or if it has advantages or disadvantages to cromo or alu i have haqd this bike for about two days and the first day i took it dirt jumping and it held up fine.

The only advantage I know of is that hi-ten steel is cheaper than chromo. and alu. One reason chromo is better than hi-ten steel is that it's stronger so less can be used resulting in lighter frame (thinner walls)

The reason companies use hi-tensile steel is because it is cheaper, bottom line. Chromoly is a lighter material in a sense, because they can use less of it and still have it be stronger than hi-ten. Low end bikes are made with hi-ten steel. It may last you awhile, or it may not. I know people who have ridden low end frames for awhile, but they usually end up broken in one way or another. The good thing about the Launch is that the rest of it is composed of decent components, so if a couple years from now you need a new frame, it won't be too big of a deal.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the manufacturer has enough data and information to know that a bmx is a kids bike for the most part and the majority of kids need a bmx that is strong enough and that not every kid will be doing the stunts/tricks that a professional does. That a bmx is a 20" wheel for the most part, will be outgrown and the bike will be replaced too. Granted, the chromoly frames are nicer, but a company wants to sell more product for brand name recognition rather than fewer.
