im lookin to get a new bike but im not quite sure what to get. It'll be used mostly on street and I'm looking to spend about $350. Gimme some good suggestions and maybe a website besides dan's or albe's.
Oh and about maybe like 30-32 pounds.

Considering the fact that most bikes are under 33 pounds now... no. Hell, mine weighs 28 and I ride street on it.

If you have looked at Dans & Albes (and a few other online shops) then you really have seen most of what is out there. Haro is one of a few companies that is not sold online. So, they are an option... but they will always be beat by online purchases.

So are there any bikes at one of the online shops that strikes your interest?

Maybe you can get a year or two old model for a couple hundred off the original price. That's always a good deal.

I'd like to second haro bmx87's question about the Mosh bikes (I asked it myself in a different thread). Are the high-end ones worth the slashed prices?

I have a friend with a Mosh Brass 1 Star and its holding up with him. Hes a small guy but he rides it hard with street, so you cant make out what you think from that. Personally I dont like his bike when I ride it because of the size of the crank. I dont know if he bought a smaller one or if its stock but I didnt like it.

Yeah, that makes sense about the crank. The 1 Star is only 170mm (the 4 stars are 180). The 4 star actually seems good for taller riders (20.75" TT Brass, 21" TT Lux).

Mosh BRASS 4 Star would be my recommendation:
1. Everything the Lux has.
2. Plus front brakes
3. Plus seat stay mounted rear brakes (up high, allows for smaller gearing)
4. Four pegs instead of 2
5. Ten bucks more for all the extra stuff. The extra weight is most likely in the extra pegs and the extra brake. If you don't want to use the extras, take them off and save them for later... for ten bucks, it's worth it to just get that stuff!

Well, I think Dan's was selling it in the back-to-school catalog for around 340-350, so that deal makes sense.

BMXTRIX--Other than the superior component set (and I agree, as the only advantage the Lux might have is the slightly longer top tube), do you know anyone who rides/has ridden a Mosh and if he or she liked it? thanks a lot.

im just getting the lux 3. screw it. i don't need that long of a top tube (i'm 5'10") i'll probably get rid of the wheels and go with odyssey's and see what else later on. any1 know if an industry wheelset would be good enuff for me? i don't do huge jumps and stuff and im 135-140 pounds.

Mosh sux don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!They won't hold up as you progress.Maybe you'll be okay for awhile but if it goes then what,it isn't like it comes with good parts. The eastern would be better.Have you considered e-bay they have a few solids and a couple s&m bikes for way under $350. Use your brain and find one some poser built full of trendy parts and lost interest after being laughed at! and no none of the bikes are mine. Also wait for the new ody cassette hubs the old one suck monkey nuts. I would sugest the premium with the 40 spoke rear and 36 front 5.1 lbs and nobody has them yet! Also they are capatable with oddy cogs and drivers but they are 4 pawl not 3. Just my 2 cents worth so don't get mad.
