Ac racing 888 freewheel skipping

My little bros freewheels skipping and he is afraid to ride all out with it. He has to engage it slowly before pedaling hard. Should i get the tools and open it up or take it to a bike shop.

Take it to the shop and replace it with an ACS freewheel. I've heard of nothing but problems with AC Racing products in the past.

Yea it's weird for a freewheel to start skipping so quilckly. I'll get him a ACS. How do those 13 tooth Odyssey freewheel's hold up? Thanks

They should hold up fine, and if they don't Chris or Nuno would probably warranty it for a new one; however, if you don't have a flip-flop hub, they won't work.

when i got my bike that was happening but then we took off the freewheel and while my dad sent me to the store to by wd 40 (i dunno why) he was messing around and hitting it with a hammer and when i got back it just started working and has never messed up since then. so yeah, violence solves everything...
