www.bmxtrix.com -> how-to -> fix your bike -> rear axle/freecoaster
It has photos and stuff of removing and installing a wheel w/pegs and tools required.

i agree i hate mongoose stuff. my neighbors has one of those crappy mongoose outerlimit/walmart bike. um the grips are hard as a rock, the tires suck, and the stem is so loose u can do a bar spin. that is u can spin the bars all the way around while keeping the tire pointed in one direction

its fine for him though. he's only 7 and he usually just rides. sometimes i'll build crappy ramps with him and his brother (13, my age also) and we'll jump off them. i just know somepoint he'll probably bend his fork and probably bend his rims and bust the frame
i'm not trying to be mean. i don't have the best bike either compared to other bikes ( i have a haro backtrail x1) but i feel 50 times safer on my bike than his bike

well, i dont care if you cant grind now, you will eventually, so if you are going to in the future, buy grinding pegs now, so you'll have them then.

doesent matter man.. and that isnt true. I was lucky enough when i started riding to not have a fourm to go to and hear about what everyone else was doing because I didnt have to realize how much i sucked, except when i went to fdr, but really dont be so hard on yourself.. it had to be about a year or so before i could even bunny hop on to a 1 foot ledge, mind you, thats a 2 inch bunny hop, but that first year of riding was almost my most fun ever. Get the grinding pegs, keep trying to grind and dont say you cant one more time or you never will. Just go for it man.

is it considered stupid to wax up a ledge type thing that is just a little higher than peg height than "grind" it by rolling up to it, raising the front wheel so i can put the peg on the ledge, and keep my back wheel on the ground?
i don't even know if thats considered grinding

That's what we kindly refer to as a poser grind. Really.
It's only cool if you manual into it from sixty or more feet away, and do a 180 to smoothie out of it. Not really.

abolish pegs, thats wot i say.
i dont run pegs but can still grind on me pedals, you have to do somethings opposite (e.g. feeble stalls to over on a spine) but that just improves your confidence and stability on your bike. I think beerman will clarify that one

yea rice, dont worry, u will learn how to really grind sooner or later. The first real grind i did was at a skatepark. Actually it was a feeble, but I was only able to do it bc i had a helmet on. It really gives u the confidence. And also it was the environment. But before really grinding, id suggest u practice your J or bunny hops.
