Old bmx question..
(I originally posted this in the classic/vintage forum)
What's up all? I'm brand new here. Actually did a google search to look for a place like this.
Basically, I love old (circa 1988 and older) bmx bikes and although I can still appreciate the newer bmx, the newest one I own is a 1998 Redline. I am constantly restoring my ~84 Mongoose (the old chomoly jobs) and am wondering if anyone knows of a good place to purchase more of these bikes or the like.
Let me know if I'm in the wrong forum (maybe i should be in BMX?) for this type of question.
Thanks in advance for any input...

eBay is a good place to look for New Old Stock BMX bikes. There's two local shops in the South Bay that have some older stuff that they might ship out, Fast Bikes (some really old school stuff, brand-new Peregrine parts, even - 408-251-9110) and Calabazas Cyclery (Boss Racing mainly, but they have some older hubs, too - 408-366-2453).
And try this website's message boards: https://www.vintagebmx.com

do u do the old stuff for looks? remenisence?
yeah, both. As a kid I was poor, always looking longingly at the blue-hubbed, blue pedaled-blue chained, Mongooses and thought they were amazing. I've modeled my old Mongoose in that vein. Motomags, with blue accents throughout the bike. Still not the same as the old stuff, but cool nonetheless...
I just think those old bikes were beautiful.
