good tires for bmx racing

I'm getting started in racing and need to know what tires are good for it. Keep in mind I'm on a tight budget and can only pay 20$ eace at the most. Also, I've heard when racing it's better to have a narrow rear whhel and a wide fornt. Help me out here.

if you aren't "large" you want 1.75" tires on both back and front, or if ur an adult u want both to be 2.125. you may also try 2.125 in front and 1.75 in rear if you're an older teen. The best racing tires u'll find out there are irc sirens. i run em and i love em. low rolling resistance (doesn't slow u down on straights) but grip great in the turns. about 16 or 17 bucks each, dont weight much either... definitly worth the money.

Ok, I'll take your advice. I hope they have them at my bike shop. I'm 15, 5'10, and 135 pounds so it should be good.

for racing go with IRC Sirens. I am also 15 years old but i weigh like 160. I run a 20 x 1.75 in the back and a 20 x 2.125 in the front. This is a really good set up for racing at almost any track there is.

How is that for cruising on the streets too? Nothing serious, just riding. I just sold my two redlines so I have no spare bikes. So are these IRC's durable? At least i have the money now that I sold my redlines.

Alright. The general consensus is these are the best for the money. I hope they have them at my local bike shop. I don't want to pay $6 or so for shipping from dan's comp.

mine have held up well but if they dont have em at ur shop, they may have holly rollers which ive never had but i've heard they're good from many ppl. you may want to go to a shop that has alot of bmx bikes or that is near a track. many others dont have too much stuff for bmx unless they're located near a bike track or park.

Yep. Except those old farts, but they don't reply to tire threads because they're too old.

Well, I hope I'm not too old to respond. I ride Maxxis Max Daddy's 1.85 front and rear. A great grippy tire for an old man like me. They're the *****. I say this because I mounted some on my cruiser today, and went rolling around the backyard, through a stinky little turd patch.
