What's goin' on with this Huffy???

Tectro Brakes, aluminum seat post, very thick axels, reinforced down tube, Alex rims??? Obviously repainted so I can't determine what model and typically Huffy it's heavy. I know virtually nothing about BMX bikes, so any info as to model, age, etc., appreciated. thanx

95 looks and no replies?

I know little about bmx bikes, but I bought this one at a yard sale because it was: 1. Cheap, and 2. had decent components. Most other Hufffy's I see at yard sales and flea markets are walmart specials with the lowest quality brakes and wheels. Heavy duty axels and an aluminum seat post? forget about it!

The frame seems heavy so why would Huffy go to the effort of installing better than bottom end components?

I tried researching this one on my own, but no luck finding anything that looks like it.

Your comments (informative ones) will be much appreciated. thanx

Oh, and by the way, is anything on this bike worth anything or should I just throw it in the dumpster?

It was made during the mid-school era and therefore has all of the overbuilt-ness of that time. I have a KHE Beater from that era that I ride from time to time that weighs approx. 35-40lbs. Now granted it is strong as hell and would survive anything my big self can throw at it. But yes, technology and style has moved on since then.

I can use the brakes for a Frankenbike project I have in mind, and can sell off the tires and wheels, but I have seen too many "collectable" bikes ruined by an uninformed owner. I didn't think this was worth saving, but I was puzzled by the better than bottom of the barrel components and the rather nicely done welds and reinforcements.
