New SE OM Flyer 26" cruiser
Just ordered one of these on a wing and a prayer hoping it will work out
Not a lot of real world track-time reviews out there on these --- I'm assuming most buy these just to look at now? Anyway --- i longed for an SE bike long ago -- fast forward 30 years -, i purchased for my nephew a repro Quadangle -- they are so cool they almost bring tears to your eyes , -- but a lot of the neato anodized parts appear to be on there for appearance sake ------ He has expressed an interest in actually doing some riding and we found a track in his area , so i am going to pony up and ride with him while the rest of the 40 year old dad's/uncles, etc hang out in the pits and play with their i-phones The bike looks like it will need a couple of mandatory upgrades before it even sees a track with an oversized 225+ lbs adult rider on board , but i was expecting that --- its just easier for me to start with something built already and upgrade as parts break than it would for me to put a frame together from scratch So that was a long winded intro -- but basically just wanted to know if anybody else was riding one (or a similar 26" cruiser) on an actual track and how they were liking it? I was oh so close to buying a dirt jump bike and just running 6" riser bars on that and that may be a viable option later if any shortcomings surface in this old (well..... old styled) warrior |
White, red? I would go with the white one, reminds me of my old redline. Can relate to those quadangles. Just put extra air in tires.

The 2014 models were done up in orange --- i'll post a pic when the beast gets here - but i'm Oklahoma State alumni, so orange works well for me :thumb: They list the weight as 29 pounds ---- i'll go with a better seat and some kevlar bead tires and see if that gets me a little lower, but i suspect a cheap wheel build probably weighs a lot -- plus the no-name profile style cranks everyone throws on these "retro" bikes have to weigh a ton --- regardless , it'll get me back on the track with my buddy |
