Using Xbox / PS4 in a vacation home

I know many bikers are frequent gamers so I'm hoping to get some information here. (Upfront, understand I'm not familiar with gaming. This is for the grandkids so please answer like I'm a newbie. As the vacation is a surprise I can't ask the grandkids about this.) I'm planning to rent a family vacation home and would appreciate some information on access to Xbox or PS4 games for grandkids. Many homes I'm considering have game / arcade rooms with systems included and I'm wondering how to access games. When using Xbox or PS4, are games accessed via the internet, or from cartridges. Is there a subscription of some sort? Must I buy or can I rent games? Must I know console specifics to match with a game?

Xbox One and PS4 both have the ability to run games off of a disc and as a digital download. The new generation of consoles have versions that can run both, but also digital-only versions. Chances are a vacation rental will not have the new generation, however.

My guess would be that the consoles in the vacation rentals already have an account on them and are hooked up to the internet, and probably have a selection of either hard copy or digital games already installed. You can play hard copies of most games in offline mode but there is some functionality that requires an internet connection. Probably worth asking the rental person specifically the details. Might also be worth the grandkids parents if they know some of the details--maybe the kids already have their own xbox accounts, for example?

If the grandkids already have their own Xbox or PS accounts they can log in to the consoles.

Xbox and PS both have subscription services but I doubt you would need to worry about that during the time you are there.

Would probably have a word with your children concerning their desire in this regard. Chances are strong that if they already game they may have plans to bring a system of their own. In addition to the console style gaming systems there are all manner of hand held devices now.
Suggested that it would make for far better family together time and offer something different than the home experience to fill the days with activities you can all join in together. Bring some board games. Go putt putt. Help them make meaningful memories and experience valuable family bonding time. They can be screen zombies at home or on the car to and from. Ultimately, it's going to be up to the 'rents, so talk to them first. They probably have the answers to all your questions as well.

Lol- edit, got me...didn't even see that this was 3 months ago...hope it went well OP.

playstaion 5 my favourite console. But nowadays I started to play mostly different games like sports betting on PC or smartphone. I am also sport fan so used to test different apps on https://onlinebettingapp.in/ plus its not bad way to earn some extra cash. I bet on soccer and basketball games.
