Ok the next person didnt show up yet so I got a little extra time here at the libary computer.

As I said I left Portland early sunday morning it was nice and cool since it had been so hot while I was here it felt good. The ride out of town I saw hunf\dreds of bikers heading down town. this was the day they close the bridges to vehicles and make it a biker only day and have this big bike ride. cool idea!!

the ride out of Portland was a climb, since it sits at about 32ft above sea lreview every durection is up. The road was not real steep but long and steady for about an hour, then a refreshing downhill and back up again. This roller coaster road went on most of the morning. then about 1:30 am it started to get hot one sign i passed said 92 by the time I got to Macminville I was getting overheated and hungry not to mention a bit tired. I found some bikers and asked about a place to get brekfast, they recomended the Oregon hotel, a place right out of the past. Everyone was friendly and the pancakes were hudge.

I rode on a bit slower now with a full belly, and the temp was going up and a strong head wind was kickin me inthe face. I figured Id try to make Lincoln city today about 100 miles, but the heat and wind eventually won and I had to start looking for a place to camp.

One town I stoped at for refill the water bottles recomended to just pull off the side of the road and camp should be ok. thats what I did and make dinner and went to sleep early. thuis day I made 70 miles.

Got up and it was cold. Got started by 7:30 and rode 40 miles when I spotted the otis cafe in this tiny town of Otis Or. after brekfast I continued on hy 101 and picked up a good tail wind but it was still cold!! Goinf through lincoln city was not fun too much traffic OK so I found a state park and got a spot in the biker camp. These are 4 bucks includeing a warm shower. You share the site with anyother touring bikers that come in this night there were 5 others. 2 brothers and their friend going from seattle to san fran cisco and a guy going only as far as cresent city and a father and son going as far as the can in two weeks., we shareda camp fire and tales of the road.

I was up early and got riding by 7am it was cold and grey again I was going to make florance oregon today a 60 mile ride with some big challenging hills.

The firs 2 or 3 hills were a warm up for what was ahead, I saw a sign "if you cant make waves, make ripples" so i WAS MAKING ripples going up the hills. The last hill befor Florance was a killer started in a tunnel then went up and arround for the next hour. i stoped a few times to enjoy the view. The sun was poking out and getting warm. I took off the jacket and was cold put it back ob and was sweating just couldnt get it right. comming into florance i was tired and spotted a cheep motel with a pool and hot tub I took it for the night.

Taking a day to explore florance area today then will head to eugene tomorrow.

hope you al are doing good with what ever you are doing.

catfish: was reading this today and
made me think of you and your
journey. from The Thirteen Original
Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams:

Becomes Her Vision is the guardian
of all cycles of transformation. She is
the Mother of Change, who teaches
us how to go through every lesson
and cycle of transformation in order
to spiritually evolve. She shows us
the importance of staying on our
chosen paths and not being drawn
into limiting illusions that could
destroy our personal visions. This
process of change transforms the
human body, heart, mind and spirit
from a finite sense of Self into an
infinite, universal, creative extension
of the Great Mystery's love...
This Clan Mother tells us that every
time we transform, we are then
shown a new vision and a more
expansive point of view...Every
decision we make and every goal we
choose is how we determine the
content of our personal myths.

Becomes Her Vision teaches the
Human Tribe that the ultimate
transforming vision is the decision to
simply BE. During our spritual
evolution we tend to place labels on
who or what we want to become. We
usually discover that we do not need
labels; we can become our visions
by being who and what we are at any
given moment. The decision to be
all things and nothing takes away the
labels that limit our sense of
wholeness.

Becomes Her Vision reminds all of
her human children that the dreams
they hold for themselves grow and
change with every decision made
and every lesson learned. We are
who and what we are being at any
given moment of time, as we make
choices that alter the course of how
we manifest our dreams, we express
our individualities.

Catfish, be safe and travel true.

Howdy from Texas Catfish!

When I met you last year at WSSC LA I thought that you just a little crazy for riding your bike from WI to the conference. After I got home and read about your travels, I had more respect for what you had done. Now that I own a road bike and train for century rides, I envy what you get to see and experience. I would one day like to do what you are doing right now, but there is a cute little three-year old boy who would miss his mommy too much. I have the kiddie bike trailer and I just need to get used to riding with that for now. Now that you are on Odyssey #2, have there been any changes in your bike or your gear that you have made based on your first journey? Keeping you in my prayers and telling my Spinning members about your progress.
