day 55 or maybe 56
good day yesterday, 75 miles the day started cold but sunny got pancakes at about 5 miles out and the waitress was on some other planet, i had to ask 3 times for the water then she couldnt remember to bring the fork toi eat with but she was fun anyway. Got going and quicly got into the rythem of the ride. the sun was out and in mostly behind some clouds. When it did come out it got real warm and there wa a bit of a tail wind again today. I knew i could make it to prentice and ther would bea motel. These days or nights rather it is way too cold to be outside unless there is no choice.
When i got to prentice 45 miles out I stoped for lunch of a bowl of lasagna sdoup and a grilled cheeze sandwich. The special o f the day. the waitress was frienday and sat down for a while and talked. In asked about motels between here and hy 51 cause it was kinda early to stop and didnt want to be caught outside either
There was a motel nextdoor and then it is 30 or so miles to the next. I finished the lunch and went next door to see what the deal is. There was no room so i had the choice to go back one mile or forword 30 miles to tomahauk. I saw that it was al;lready 1:45 pm but i had the wind on my side. The sky looked threatining though. When i got to the hy i decided to gp for it I figureed if i kept a pace of at least 10 mph Id make it ok
The wind was a help this afternoon cause i made the first 15 miles in a flash then it started to get colder and i just kept going I hit some new pavement and the going got eaiser it was as smoothe as glass. Finiall got to the point that it was down to one lane as they put the finial "lift" on one side of the road at a time. the flag man stoped us as we waited for our turn to go through I got almost to the end when the opposite falgger let the traffic come at me it caused quite a snarl no place fo r anyone to go As i went by this dude I gave him apiece of my miong as it would have been only a coupla more mionutes till io gpot through
ok so I got over it and saw a motel/restraunte and stoped for the night. Washed cloths and watched some T V tomorrow Ill make Eagle River. its about 50 miles. maybe another week or 2 and this ride will be in the can!!
