MS Cape Code Getaway; Worth it!

I rode the MS Cape Cod Geataway for the first time this year, with a team called the Spokesmen. In short, a well supported ride, well attended, and worth it. Some very inspirational sights along the way as some of the rider has MS and were working very hard to complete the ride. The routes were very good and well signed (but riding head down I missed a couple of turns) and easy to follow; just pay attention. There's also GPX files available, as well.

I rode the 100 mile option for day one, and it's basically a detour from the 75 mile route that heads 'inland' prior to joining the shorter route later in the day, around the 80 mile marker in Miles Standish state forest. Food and drink were very good in Bourne at the end of day one, as well. The dorms at Mass Maritime were, well, dorms. Serviceable, not luxury. But good enough.

The day two ride up the Cape was nice, as always. Logistics at the finish line confusing for me, a first time, but in retrospect, not bad. I dropped my bike, grabbed a shower, a snack, and boarded the bus back to Quincy, the starting point. Comfortable and air conditioned, it worked for me.

Anyway, if you're thinking of doing this ride next year, don't hesitate. It's a good one. Good cause, nice ride, and a great crowd. Which goes without saying. They're cyclists.

I have not entered it but I have donated a couple of time to riders that have. They enjoyed it also.
