I'm in! 70 miles for me. Just getting going on a road bike, and mine should be all built at the LBS tomorrow, so I need to continue on in my training, but really looking forward to the summer to do that.
This will be my first real ride...I'm pretty pumped!

Anybody *still* riding?
Forecast: 100% chance rain, 18-20 mph winds, high of 57. My first ride of this length. Done some 30 milers, a 40 and a 50, but not 70 yet, and not with 1300 ft of elevation, and not with rain the whole time. Whew!

If you're there, I'm the brown guy, with the goatee and this jersey:

Working hard to try to hit my $2500 goal...still a couple days left, right??
Maybe I'll see some of you out there.

Yeah I'm still doing it. I just bought a CX bike though so look out for me on a red Lemond Poprad.
I will be a part of Team Comcast/Science Channel.

I'm in, came up from LA to do it, so I'm riding it. Supposed to do the 100. We shall see what happens though. I picked up some killer rain gear today, state tax free. What a great state, no sales tax and they pump your gas for you!

I am doing medical support on the 100 miler again this year. Of course with the weather forecast it will be very tempting to pass up the Hag lake section of the ride. I did put some fenders and road wheels on the CX bike but fenders only help so much. Oh well never rode a century in the rain there is a first time for every thing. Everyone be careful and ride safe! I really prefer riding to working.

I just heard that because of the weather there will be no 100 mile ride tomorrow. Sounds like the 70, 40 and 10 mile rides are still on.

Still trying to figure out who the rocket scientist was who scheduled PDX for this time of year.
On the other hand, for those of us who did the "Worst Day of the Year Ride", we had great weather.

Wow, that was something...wet, cold, and generally just ugly. My first 'big' ride ever, AND my first ride ever in the rain. I first got on a road bike in March, and have lost 53 lbs since February, so this was a big challenge I've been looking forward to all summer long. Here are my specs:
Total time on route: 5:07 hrs
Total moving/riding time: 4:30 hrs
Total distance: 69.5 miles
Avg speed: 15.4 mph
Max speed: 30.3 mph
Elevation gain: +4,540 feet (according to Motionbased upload - another one says 3100)
Avg Heart Rate: 148 bpm (zone 4)
Avg Temperature: 49 degrees (max 50)
Avg Wind Speed: 10 mph, max 14
Calories Burned: 5100 (yeah, baby!)
I've posted my own personal experience on my blog, click here if you're interested in reading it.
Thanks,
Paul
