AIDS/LifeCycle 2007 - Need sponsors
Hello!
From June 3-9, 2007, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
Last year I was scheduled to do the ride, but got cut at the last minute due to medical problems. This year, my focus and intent is to complete all 545 miles.
This will be my first time riding in AIDS/ LifeCycle. Why do I want to do this? For starters, for the challenge. Normal every day life doesn't include riding a bicycle for any serious distance, especially not 545 miles. Secondly, this is a great opportunity for me to get out of myself and help someone else. Getting together with 2,000 other people who are in it to help others is a magical thing, and I can't wait to be a part of it.
By doing this, I get the satisfaction of knowing that I worked very hard help raise money to support a great cause. I get the privilege of riding my bike with 2,000 other like minded people, in an amazing show of selflessness and courage. I get no fiscal or other rewards. I am spending my own money to get to San Francisco to start the ride, plus expenses to get my equipment and bicycle up there.
