My first charity event
Hi all,
Just to give you a little background, I have been into cycling for about 20 years (ever since I got out of college), so physical ability to do a charity event is not an issue. It's usually soliciting for donations ... that's the issue. With that in mind, I finally decided to do the Tour de Cure in Palo Alto.
However, I posted that I was doing this in the SoCal Forum ... you may wonder why I post it in SoCal and not NorCal? Well, I have developed a bunch of friends in SoCal, and I have a comfort level with them. My concern is that this is not kosher. So my question is, was what I did wrong and in bad taste? I'm having second thoughts after posting that. I only posted it after PM'ing my dear friend from SoCal Forum, and she suggested I post it. What are your thoughts on that?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

If you didn't directly ask for contributions, I don't see it as bad taste. Worst case, you'll wind up with the thread moved here and merged with this and a gentle reminder from a mod about TOS, if you violated. You can put a link to your TdC page in your sig, by the way, and that's perfectly acceptable under both TOS and good taste!
