HG, are you doing the century? Is the course flat in CA?

I am doing the 100 mile route in Philly, and it is looking rather sadistic.

I personally heard someone ask Lance last year at dinner, "Man, that course was hard! Alot of people were a little surprised how hard it was, whaddya think?"

Lance looked at the guy with a super straight face and simply said, "It's called a Challenge for a reason"

enough said.

Oh, I didn't mean sadistic in a bad way. That's what's helping to motivate me to get out of the Clydesdale category. Only 10 pounds to go!

If your doing the Philly Challenge why are you posting in the Bay Area, CA thread?

The 100 miles isn't that tough if you’re well trained.

Really just depend how hard you push.

See post #2. I saw that the Philly thread was taking off pretty well, but that some other ones were slower to get going. I was just trying to get a little friendly rivalry going. Surely they won't let a bunch of cheese-steak eaters have a better turn out, will they?

That's a big "if". I have an over-use injury that's been nagging me from a previous year. Plus this spring I had a crash followed by some bronchitis that set me back a bit. Still, I'm using this ride as motivation to get to that "well-trained" point.

Its the first year for me. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm riding the 100 mile course in memory of my dad.
