Doug Constiner Ride across America
Hi everyone,
My name is John Constiner, I am 33 years old. I have a 14 year old son, Brad. Together we will ride across the country on our bicycles from Astoria, Oregon to Ocean City, Maryland. We will embark on our journey the first week in June of 2010 and plan on making it across in 8 weeks. Some may ask, why are we doing this? Well, the truth is we love cycling and this will be something that both of us will remember for the rest of our lives. We figured since this is something we love to do then we should do it as a dedication to all of those who have died or lost someone to cancer. Cancer affects everyone. Both of my grandparents died of cancer. It hit us close to home in March 2007 when my father past away at the age of 50 from rectal melanoma. He lasted 18 months from his diagnosis. Therefore we are raising funds for the American Cancer Society. We would love to see a cure. We are asking for whatever you can contribute. Our goal is to raise over $35,000. This is only $10 per mile = $35,000. Would you consider helping? Help eliminate cancer, help families that are struggling with this very disease. Include your email address and receive our newsletter, which will keep you up to date on our happenings.
For those interested in corporate sponsorship; As a Corporate Sponsor a gift of $100, you will be listed as a Sponsor on our website. A gift of $500 or more, we will have your logo printed on our jerseys (only 10 spots available) and listed as a major sponsor on our website (under construction). We will be wearing our jersey the entire trip, training during the 2009 year and during possible media interviews. We will also keep you up to date with our newsletter. Thank you again for any contribution you make.
Checks can be made out to the American Cancer Society. A cancelled check to the ACS is considered your receipt. I will supply you a receipt for cash or other. Unless specified in your donation, 100% of donations will go to the ACS.
American Cancer Society tax id will be supplied upon request
Donations can also be made thru paypal to constinerride@yahoo.com
If you may be interested in volunteering to help raise funds or want to ride with us, email us at constinerride@yahoo.com
