Join Amgen Cycling Club for an evening of excitement with Bob Roll and Garmin-Chipotle Pro Cyclist David Zabriskie to benefit Breakaway from Cancer™. The event will be held at the Amgen Conference Center Auditorium in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, February 7.

The evening will consist of a 2008 Amgen Tour of California (AToC) summary, a Grand Tour overview from DZ’s perspective, as well as a detailed look at the 2009 AToC and Garmin-Chipotle team goals for the upcoming season.

In addition, the 4th annual Breakaway from Cancer™ fundraising ride will be held the following day in Thousand Oaks (Sunday, February 8). The charity ride will consist of a 25-mile or 50-mile circuit, followed by finish line activities, including an exhibit area, live music, a Fun Zone for kids and lunch.

Charity riders are required to raise a minimum of $75 in order to participate. And, that donation includes full ride support, an event T-shirt and post-ride lunch. Event guests will also have the opportunity to meet Team Columbia athletes and Bob Roll following the ride! Registration opens at 7:30 am and the rides begin at 9:00 am. Event activities will remain open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Amgen’s Breakaway from Cancer initiative supports the programs and services offered by four nonprofit organizations – the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, Patient Advocate Foundation, the Prevent Cancer Foundation and The Wellness Community.
