Dawn Farm Ride for Recovery!
The Ride for Recovery is an exciting family fun and fitness event and a fundraiser for Dawn Farm. The event is supported by Team MANA, a cycling team of nurse anesthetists in Michigan who fundraise though biking. There will be opportunities to participate at any fitness level, and registration includes "Fun Day at the Farm" for riders/runners/walkers and their families – food, hayrides, tours of the working farm, kid's activities in the Dawn Farm Community Barn, and more!
All rides, jogs, and walks start and end at Dawn Farm in Ypsilanti. Helmets are mandatory for all riders!
The Ride for Recovery also provides an opportunity to support a critical community service. Founded in 1973, Dawn Farm provides compassionate, competent and hope-filled professional care to those who struggle with problems with alcohol and other drugs. Dawn Farm services include residential treatment, detoxification services, outpatient treatment, transitional housing, and community outreach programs that meet people with addictions to alcoholic and other drugs where they are. A unique feature of Dawn Farm has always been the provision of care for individuals who lack financial resources. The philosophy is simple - no individual will be denied services for lack of insurance or other funds. Community support for events like the Ride for Recovery helps to keep vital services available for those who need them most.
SCHEDULE:
Bike rides:
50 mile HONESTY ride - starts at 9:00 am
25 mile OPENNESS ride - starts at 10:00 am
10 mile WILLINGNESS ride - starts at 1:00 am
Runs/Jogs/Walks:
5k and 10k STONY CREEK SHUFFLE - start at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, or 11:30 am
Fun Walk at the Farm – ALL DAY!

Sunday, May 16, 2010, 9am-2pm
LOCATION:
Dawn Farm, 6633 Stony Creek Road, Ypsilanti, Michigan, 48197 (easily accessible from major highways.)
COST/REGISTRATION:
Registration fee is $25.00, and suggested fundraising donation is $50.00. Participants can register AND fundraise online at www.firstgiving.com/dawnfarm. Participants are also welcome to register on the date of the event at Dawn Farm starting at 8:00am. Registration includes participation in a ride/run/walk AND a "Fun Day at the Farm" for riders/runners/walkers and their families!
