2010 Ride the Rideau
Wow I wish I'd found these forums earlier......(the ride is tomorrow) the 2010 Ride the Rideau is a 100km ride to raise funds for the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (https://www.ridetherideau.ca/) and I'm riding in it - my first ever metric century.
The ride has taken on a special significance for me. When I registered last May no one knew that my father had only months to live. He was in apparent good health when we celebrated his 80th birthday last June but early in August suffered an unexplained rapid weight loss which was ultimately diagnosed as cancer and he passed away last Sunday, September 5th. Emotionally it's still very raw but I'm determined to make a success of the ride in his memory.
If you see this thread and care to make a donation this may be done on line, securely at https://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=2585305 tax receipts will be issued instantly (Canadian - the IRS permits a tax credit for foreign charitable donations).
Thanks in advance for your support.
