Dempsey Challenge 1/2 & full Century in Lewiston Maine 10/03 - Alberto Contador
 

Well, good news & bad news.... Good news, I surpassed my $500 goal for this great event, BAD NEWS...Alberto Contador will not be participating for "personal reasons"...... I hope he IS clean, 1/400th presence of the allowed amount of the banned substance seems extreme. Never-the-less, we have raised over $1.3 million for a great organization that provides all of is services free of charge to cancer patients, survivors & family members. Cudos to Tom, my LBS who managed to bring my 'frankenbike' to operational status. 1992-ish Schwinn Aluminum frame matched up with Sram 9 spd cassette, Schimano 105 rd, 105 triple crank, vintage Schimano bar-end shifters, CF fork, etc., etc. - but it ALL WORKS! Didn't think it would be possible for the index to work but it does! So, I'm riding this beast for the 1/2 century, then riding home 28 miles.........
