Central Vermont Cycling Tour - June 26, 2011

The Cross Vermont Trail Association invites you to participate in the Central Vermont Cycling Tour to raise funds and support for the Cross Vermont Trail. Formerly known as the "VT Eco Tour", riders have a choice of 15, 33 and 59 mile rides on some of Central Vermont's most scenic gravel roads. The ride begins and ends at Morse Farm Maple Sugar Works in East Montpelier, VT. Last year's Tour had 85 riders, all of them had a great time and said they'd do it again. Plus, this year we have a great raffle - season passes from Kingdom Trails & Millstone Trails, and a mountain bike. Another thing to take into consideration is that this is a fully supported ride, with 3 lavishly stocked food stops, signed road junctions and course-wide mechanical and medical support. For mt bike racers it's a great way to tune up for the 12 hours of Millstone, Hampshire 100 or the VT 50 Miler.
  • The Long Tour (59.7 miles) starts at 9AM. This ride is 92% gravel/dirt, has over 6,100' of climbing, and 3 feed stations. There is a competitive timed option for this ride, and rider times will be posted the day after the event on the event website.
  • The Medium Tour (32.7 miles) starts at 10AM. This ride is 83% gravel/dirt, has 3,000' of climbing, and 3 feed stations.
  • The Short Tour (14.6 miles) starts at 10AM. This ride is 88% gravel/dirt, is more appropriate for families with children (only 1,000 feet of climbing), and 1 feed station.

Registration includes great local food at a post-ride buffet, convenient feed stations/rest stops, and well-marked courses.

Registration fees: $80 (family), $50 (individual) and $25 (junior - 12-17). Children 12 or under ride for free. Venue opens at 8:00 AM. Registration is open online or by mail.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds and awareness for the Cross Vermont Trail Association's (CVTA) trail projects in the Capital Region of Central Vermont.
