Exclamation 2013 Moritz Ride for Heroes Charity Bicycle Ride on April 20, 2013, Aledo, TX

Come join us for a fun day of cycling in East Parker County, just west of Fort Worth, TX. Our annual charity bike ride benefits the Aledo Fire Department, Hudson Oaks Fire Department, Willow Park Fire/Rescue, Parker County Sheriff's Reserve, and the Parker County Center of Hope. In addition, the Ride for Heroes bike ride benefits various student clubs from Aledo High School who staff our rest stops and Bike Texas (working for safer cycling in Texas). Choose one of 6 routes ranging from 8 to 75 miles. Visit our website at rideforheroes.org.

I've enjoyed this event several times and ride many of the same routes with Larry throughout the year. Rural area with some hills to make sure I get my exercise and enjoy some quick downhills. Scenery can be interesting in areas with some quirky lawn art, beautiful ranch homes, sweeping views from hilltop, and some unusual critters kept on the ranches. Larry and the other organizers strive to make it a good experience for the cyclists. Did I mention it already? Parker County is not flat.

This is one of my don't-miss rides of the year. Excellent support, great terrain, and usually perfect weather.
