Looking for a Campy guru
A buddy of mine owned a bike shop here in NM in the 90's/early 2000's. He was cleaning out some old storage and gifted me a bunch of old Campy stuff. I have a bunch of chainrings and sprockets for freewheels. I don't know much about this stuff. Can anyone here help me out? I have been searching on ebay a little bit and I think some of these things are worth some good money to the right person. What are good resources to use? Should I try to part this stuff out or sell it as one big group? Any and all suggestions/comments welcome. Thanks.

Broader audience on eBay versus Craigslist...and being in NM, probably a limited CL market.
If you sell in one big group, your overall intake will be less...but...it is less work.
If you sell the items individually, you will maximize your revenue...but...more work to list and ship each part.

EBay is still a useful tool to use for general "ball park" figure assessment for values, but check mostly the "sold" items, as many sellers out there are asking for the moon for some of their Campy stuff and just end up sitting on them for literally, years unsold at eBay.

The large lots of Campy bits that I've seen do quite well on the bay. Since you got the stuff for free, and don't know much about what you have, the smart thing IMO would be to take a bunch of detailed pics and list it as a Campagnolo mega lot. This way you don't have to become an expert. Remember if you list something wrong you can wind up having to return the payment and paying for double shipping. So with that being said, I think the lump sum of cash idea would work best for you.

You can try benchmarking your pricing against this site: Campyoldy - Vintage Campagnolo and Classic Cycle Equipment
This guy has a lot of old Campy NOS parts. Prices are high but not really astronomical for what he has to offer. If I were to generalize, I'd say knock 25% off these prices if you're looking to clear your shelves.

Wow that is quite the pile of gear (or gears I should say)!
The market for chain rings is pretty brisk and you might be able to unload them on the sales thread in the C+V section here. Typically a friendlier crowd than some eBay buyers. A good condition used Campy chainring will sell from $15-$30. New of course might command more.
If if you want to sell the cogs individually then use the eBay sold listings as your guide. Subtract about 15-20% if you want to sell locally. I would probably sort them into a few logically oriented groups and sell on eBay one at a time, first start $1, no reserve and see how high it gets bid up. Campy stuff usually gets a lot of interest unless I'm selling it.
