NOS Mavic SSC Gray 36H Rims
I have a pair of NOS 36H Mavic Paris-Roubaix SSC (Special Service Corse) Gray anodized rims. They weigh 400g each and were the rims used by many pro teams from the late 70's through early 80's.
I bought them a few years ago to build up with new Maillard 700 hubs for use on either a 1982 Motobecane Team Pro or a 1984 Gitane Pro.
What are these rims worth today?

It really depends on the buyer. If a buyer with deep pockets wants a top-of-the-line racing rim for that very special bike, $200.00 each is possible.
However, if you put them on eBay with a starting price of $40 each, you might get $100.00 each.

Mavic had a short lived manufacturing facility in the US. Maybe it was in Gary, Indiana??? Or was it Gray, Indiana....

Never could figure out why the Mavic SSC PR rims are so prized by everyone, as I think they weigh quite a bit more than even the GL330s.........
Must be the SSC designation and the P/R decals on the rims that make them worth the big money people ask for them??....
I'm sure they are very good rims, but I wish they just didn't cost way too much for what they are......but then, isn't that the case for most things C&V??........

They seem to go for a pretty penny on eBay if they are the 32 hole version and NOS
NOS 2x 70s MAVIC SSC SPECIAL SERVICE des COURSES 32h rim GREY vintage Campagnolo
NOS 2x 70s MAVIC SSC SPECIAL SERVICE des COURSES 32h rims SILVER vintage racing
They were pretty unique at the time because they were 23mm wide and were used by the pros. This guy is a big mavic fan and talks about them on his blog
It's not all new-tech at Paris-Roubaix ~ tears for gears
