Bianchi ID help

One again in need of info. Just acquired this Bianchi (full Campagnolo Mirage 8s build) and would like to know exact model and year of manufacture if possible? Looks like either Campione DĚtalia or Eros maybe? (has frame pump peg but no other brazeons) Thank you

PS. It is made of Dedaciai Zero Tre tubing,26.8 seatpost and Miche headset

You can look for 2 digit date codes on the components as well.

I forgot to mention, it has a reparto corse sticker on the left chain stay. Still don`t know what model it is, but judging by the dedaciai zero tre tubing used and the seat post diameter (26.8) I doubt that it is indeed a reparto corse bike.

Also found this: https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/bianch...ai-zero--26498
and it does perfectly match except the frame pump peg behind the headtube...

Mirage with the the sidepull brakes was only produced 3 years: 1995-1997. The frame graphics are correct for the period and the serial number may indicate August 1995. Bianchi USA had two Mirage equipped bicycles during this period, the Campione d'Italia and the Eros. Both used Dedaciai tubesets, with the distinction being that the Eros was equipped with a triple crankset. However, both these frames used lugged construction so, unfortunately, it would appear to be neither.

However, this frame equipped with 1995-1997 Mirage does appear in some foreign markets, notably Italy and Germany. The Italian sample does not bear a model name. FWIW, the German sample is claimed to be a Bianchi Rekord, though there is no visible model name in the photos. Given the Miche headset, there is also the distinct possibility that his was built from a frameset.

Thank you!!! Finally some lead. The bike is in Europe and was bought by the previous owner in Italy... Could you, please, point me towards the scan/catalog where you found the frame Rekord denomination? (i have also found the same exact bike referred to as Rekord and several other european ebay listings none specifying model name).

It would be important mainly for trying to find out what seat post size I need (it came with a 26.8 which drops into the frame and a 27.2 doesn`t fit). Secondly, could this be a true reparto corse frame?

Thank you so much!

The Reparto Corse decal may indicate that the bicycle was assembled by the department, not that they manufactured the frame. Zero Tre seems to be a bit low level to be handled by this department and the joints look a bit sloppy. Or maybe it was just designed by RC, though hte decal implies it was more than that. The closest known point of reference that I have for RC, is 1989, when it had 11 employees and had an annual frame output of 1500.

Sorry, I don't know the correct post size for Zero Tre. I know Zero Uno is 27.2mm. Maybe Zero Tre is 27.0mm? This would correspond to Columbus SL and SP equivalents. Also, check to make sure the cinch slot isn't pinched at the top, due to an undersize post.

I think we were looking at the same websites. I'm pretty sure the Rekord was the same one you linked to.

Well, thank you again for your input, really appreciated! I have contacted a guy on a forum that has the same exact bike in regards of the seat post issue, hope to hear from him. I`m on to find some european catalog scans, matbe they can shed some light on the issue...

the plot thickens, just found this listing Vintage N O S Road Bike Bianchi With Campagnolo Mirage Veloce Equipment | eBay and the bike has a Miche headset so it is factory spec.
Also on this one they specify the seat post as being a Campagnolo Super record. Did they ever make something other than 27.2 in record? Pics: Bianchi Rekord Dedacciai Zero TRE Steel Tubing 1990'S Road Bike Record Delta | eBay
