Those prices are way high. The derailleur will fetch $100 to $150 on ebay. I'd have to know which specific hubs you have: are they high or low flange, what is the spoke hole count, etc.

I recently searched for NOS Nuovo Record derailleurs. I purchased a NOS derailleur for less than $100.

If you want to sell quickly, put a $75 starting pricing on an eBay auction and let the buyers set the price. If you want to sell more slowly, set the initial price above $150.

Or just set a "Best Offer" option and leave it at $175 CAD.

Somewhere in the $150-175 'buy now' with free shipping. It'll all depend on how quickly you want to move it. This a very slow time of year to sell as the riding season is winding down.

If you have time to kill write a good ad with a lot of hi res pics and list it for $175-199 and let it sit until it sells. The problem with an '84 NR derailleur is the '84 SR derailleur. Its hard to sell an NR for good money when 9/10 SR's are going for $150.

Completed listing suggest $250-300 for NR/SR mid 80's hubs NOS with outliers going for as low as $200 and as high as $400+

You should put the Patent Date in your Ad. If you did I didn't see it.

But as far as the Stupid pricing goes on the bay you might hit your mark (it may take awhile). Just hope you don't feel guilty afterwards.

All of your prices look to be reasonable. I'm not a fan of that auction format, I prefer 'buy now' auctions.

BTW, your derailleur a pics are horrible. Crooked upside down sideways and lacking detail.

+1 to everything WRK101 bill just said. Never use 'as is'..to me it implies the seller may be trying to screw in one way or another.

In most of my ads I write "the pictures provided very clearly depict the overall condition". I tend to take 5mp pics from all angles and I try to use all 12 available pic slots provided by ebay.

With NOS boxed items you should say something like 'may have light shelf marks from being moved around over the years" And your ad description tell me nothing about the item.

This would be my ad description:

Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur. Vintage Campy NR rear derailleur Pat. 84 date code. NOS New Old Stock in the original box with mounting instructions. New never been used or mounted. It still has the original 'keeper tab' for the fixing bolt!!

The pictures provided very clearly show the overall condition. If you would like additional pictures I'll provide them ASAP.

Here's one of my most recent ads...

Also prices are not as "all over the place" as you might think at first glance. If you use SOLD listings, not "completed listings" it weeds out the goofiest. Then throw out any super high ones. (I always think those are some form of money laundering, cause I can't get close to those top prices).

1984 is probably a 10-20% discount to 1972-75 in identical condition

A 1972 NOS NIB RD sold for 153 about 6-8 weeks ago. I know 'cause it was from my LBS and I dropped out at 128.

Even at a good price, unfortunately, I have found getting items from Canada has always been a pain.
I would spend 10-15% more if it was stateside.
Perhaps I have just had a string of bad luck, always seems to include customs forms and added expense.

I've only gotten individual parts, (meaning smallish boxes) but so far had no delays. The things I bought all came with ebay printed shipping labels. I don't know if that helped or was just lucky.

I have the same problem when ordering from the States. Shipping is slow and that Global Shipping thing ... Don't get me started on that gimmick. Shipping is faster and prices are lower when ordering from Europe or the UK.

I have found shipping to the states cheaper and faster than shipping in Canada ....how bad is that ! Most my customers are Americans and no problems yet they usually get there items within two weeks or soon but I only ship by airmail !
