Hi guys,

This is my first post here. I'm a vintage bike enthusiast for a year now and right now I have an old Peugeot and old Colnero in my garage.

My latest addition is a 'Diamant' bike that seems a little bit newer. I don't really find a lot of information on it and I was wondering if someone here could tell me something more about the bike and the correct price for it.

As I said the frame reads Diamant but in the bottom the brand 'Cinelli' is stamped. The paint is in very nice condition On the rear swingarm where the wheel tensioners are it is marked Campagnolo. The wheels are Mavic. Groupset is Shimano with indexed gears on the frame...Pictures are attached as attachements, if you need close-ups of certain parts, don't hesitate to ask.

A drive side shot of the bike would be greatly appreciated if you would want to get the best assessment of it by the C&V Forum members.....
If the fork is original to the bike, it would most likely place it towards the very late 80's or into the 90's. A better view of the drivetrain components can confirm this.
Otherwise, it looks to be very good quality frameset, especially with Columbus tubeset used, the chrome touches, the nice looking lugwork we can see and the attention given to adding "extras" like the chain hanger on the drive side seatstay, a very nice feature that was mostly disappearing when this bike was produced.
BTW, I hope you noticed that the front skewer is being used backwards. The lever should be pushed towards the opposite direction You most likely will not get adequate clamping force using it that way....

The Columbus decal place it pre-1988, while the presence of a front derailleur boss, in conjunction with recessed brake mounts, should put it no earlier than 1982. I can't tell if it has dual bottle bosses but based on the placement on the seat decal, I'll assume no, as manufacturers typically didn't like bottles obscuring their name. Bosses for a 2nd set of bottles started become popular of high end models circa 1985-1986. Pump pegs also started becoming popular around the same time, though in this case, the omission would have nothing to due with the era and more to do with the presence of a number peg, which is the nicest "extra". Pending further information my current impression is mid-1980s.

The frame would appear to pre-date at least some of the components. Some of the components appear to be 600 Ultegra but not all, and they appear to be from different eras. For instance, the brake levers pre-date the calipers.

In addition to tthe previously requested drive train photo, I'd be interested in knowing the threading standard for the bottom bracket, as there were multiple Diamant brands.
