That is one of the Rossin era Poliaghi. The components appear to be New Shimano 105 (1987-1989) and the frameset appears to be Matrix/Cromor. So, decidedly mid-range and not a true Poliaghi, though still from a highly respected manufacturer.

Thanks! I actually found a posting on this forum with a similar bike a few years back. Indeed appears to be Matrix tubing. What is the max you would pay for one in very clean condition?

Was Pogliaghi affiliated with Basso as well? The Pro's Closet had a frameset in my size recently, but I was able to refrain as it looked pretty plain wrap compared to some of the Pog's I have seen in threads here

While excellent condition and low mileage is definitely worth a premium, is it worth $300-350 extra? I don't think so, as it is still a 30 year bicycle with 30 year old grease and you still have to perform a complete overhaul. Matrix/New 105 bicycles from prestigious Italian brands were selling for around $750 US during this era. It sounds like maybe the seller bought it at a year end sale and is trying to recoup full value. $400 US is not out of the ballpark, assuming negligible mileage.

Would I? No...but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. To me it's a very blahhh bike with pretty paint and some branding.

OK, since it was literally in NOS condition, I went ahead and picked it up for a VERY good deal. The bike has a decal that says it was built by Rossin and says they used Dupont paint. The colors really do pop. The 105 actually shifts better than some of my Campy-equipped bikes, just not as pretty. The tires are shot so going to replace those. The bar tape is obviously pretty crusty too so I'm going to replace with some Benotto tape. Local shop had the striped Benotto tape in the same exact three colors of the bike! Might be too blingy, but I guess the paint already makes it so. It's all Shimano 105 (groupset, pedals and hubs), but has a Campy aero seatpost, Cinelli stem/bars and Ambrosio rims, along with a Turbo saddle. Weight right now is 22 lbs. Not bad for Matrix tubing. Has a few tiny marks but otherwise looks like it came right off the showroom floor... Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Yup... Paid $350.00. Thought it was a pretty good deal for a pretty bike! I should have never gone to see it in person! Attached are a couple more pics the bike shop sent me after throwing on the fancy Benotto bar tape. I figured it's already a bright paint job so why not go with a showy bar tape...

Yeah .. I think 350-400 is a fair value for that bike. Fame is probably worth 350 on it's own.

I'd been watching that Pug for a while, first on Ebay and then on Craigslist. I guess just like me, other lookers were not too fond of the tubing.
The bike was quite close to me and would have been an easy pick up. I actually spoke with the seller early on. It took him a long time to sell that bike and I'm sure that contributed to the large price reduction that you got.
Indeed that bike is a great looker. And sometimes, just like women, that's all that matter.

I had an Olmo with the same tubing and aside from the slight weight penalty, the Matrix tubing isn't bad. It can take a hit, which is kind of nice for a daily beater. The seller was a nice guy.

Matrix nicely filled the gap between SL & SP, in terms of weight and stiffness, with seamed billet construction thrown in, for economy. I've always considered it a very good, general purpose, sports tubeset for mid-range bicycles.
