Seeking advice
This looks like a nice rebuilding project (assuming it's worth it when I see it)
Canadian $150 is about US $120. I'd like it for less money as I do see some work.

Looks well cared for. Frame looks clean. Since the rear is still as is, I'd call it a lazy man's fixie. I like the seat
I have a spare derailleur set from a Raleigh Royale I stripped down. Would stay as a 5 speed.

It's a repaint of a low end, hi-tensile model, no better than your Royale. I see steel rims, hubs and stem, so probably a steel handlebar too. Calipers are modern, bottom of the line aluminum units from a chain store model. Painted crank is pretty much dedicated to this bicycle, unless you're prepared to strip it. I'll be generous and say $75 CDN.

Might I suggest that you learn to recognize the things that make for a Quality Vintage Bicycle, and you will be much better prepared to recognize a good bike and good deal when one presents itself...

I'm pretty sure the bike in question was a mid 70's Record which was there base model 10 speed . As for value with the ugly repaint and cheap poorly done SS conversion I agree worth about $75, I agree you should pass on this one the Royale is actually a slightly nicer bike.
