Magni ICS Exklusiv Road Bike Frame
Dear Forum members,
I am looking to part with a 1980's ICS Magni Exklusiv road bike frame in Cromovelato blue, Frame #756, including a custom ICS chrome-plated Cinelli 1R Stem and Cinelli Giro D-Italia handlebars with sewn Almarc leather cover. I'd appreciate any input as to what would be an adequate price for this road bike.
The frame is Italian built by Giovanni Losa and received a Zurich (Switzerland) finish by ICS
Frame size: 64 cm (c-c)
Top tube: 59 cm (c-c)
Stem size: 14 cm (c-c)
Tubing: Columbus Aelle steel, double-butted, oversized
Seat Tube Diameter: 27.2 mm
ICS Cinelli 1R stem, fully chrome-platted, no rust or marks of use
Length: 140 mm
Cinelli Giro D'Italia handlebars with sewn Almarc leather cover
Measure: 40 cm (center-center); 42.5 cm (outside-outside)
The frame has only had one owner since new and seen little use.
Custom order frame, featuring internal cable routing for the brakes and Cromovelato metallic paint.
Underneath the paintwork the frame is fully chromed. The paintwork ist 100% original with not one single touch-up or restoration having been undertaken anywhere on the bike.
There are absolutely no dents, rust, pickles in the chrome, etc. of any kind on the frame.
All the tiny nicks of time have been protocolled extensively in the numerous HD pictures.
These can be viewed here :
I hope the pictures suffice. I have tried to show-case all blemishes and to take a picture from every possible angle. Further pictures for the appraisal can be requested.
What would be an adequate price for this road bike? I am looking to get a more accurate quote than I have received thus far. Thank you for your time, interest and efforts!

It sounds like you already know what you think it's worth and are just looking for confirmation?
First, value/market are very limited by the size.
Second, that market is further limited by people who know/care about Losa. He's a talented builder, but I don't think his stuff gets a premium.
Third It's Columbus Aella. I think SP would be more desirable here, even if this might be a better tubing for the size.
If it were mine, I'd probably expect maybe $400ish, ICS connection or not, and it wouldn't be a fast sale. That might be optimistic. I'd sell the stem/bars separately. I think you likely have $200 in the stem/bar with the right buyer.

Thank you for the reply.
I've been quoted anywhere from $800-1000 for the frame thus far on other forums and local bike shops and I wasn't certain if this was realistically attainable ... I am looking for confirmation or somebody to tell me that this is absolutely crazy and that I should slash the price in half. That's the essence of it. It's hard to value something that was produced in such low quantity and as more of an "eye-candy" by ICS, therefore perhaps only suitable for certain individuals since it possesses little heritage.
As for the tubing, I was told that anything besides Aelle would be more for those weary of their life given that the frame would flex too much. It had to be custom ordered in this particular size as ICS only produced frames up to 63cm (C-T that is, at least from what I've been told). Using SP would, I suppose, be more desirable, but probably would've reduced the lifespan of the frame. The weird thing is that despite being Columbus Aelle, the seat tube diameter is 27.2, not the usual 26.8, which perplexed some of the people I've asked. I'm assuming that various tubes were used, with the "worst" of them being the Aelle kind, which is why they declared the frame as Columbus Aelle.
I'm not eager to part the stem/bars form the frame as they were modified by ICS as well and ultimately belong together. It's a pain having to hunt for individual parts so why not make the batch purpose if you're already getting the frame, plus the stem is 14 cm long, which is ideal for someone who's tall enough to ride this thing.
Thanks again for your input

I'd try throwing it up on ebay at $800 with stem bars, make offer enabled, and see what happens.
