Seeking Info...
Looking for info on a bike, and I cannot seem to find any useful information. Bike is circa 2000 era with Macalu- Competizione decals, but also has decal at base of seat tube stating Easton Aluminum Frame. I have only found info pertaining to Macalu from circa 1995 with Ti frames. Bike has triple crankset with Ultegra groupo, LOOK fork, Mavic OpenPro hubs, and Italmanubri quill bar stem. Bike was purchased this way. Paint color is a tomato redish metallic. Owner is looking to sell and I'm attempting to determine the bike's worth. Thinking perhaps the bike was built up this way and not a production model. ANY light that can be shed on this particular bike would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums. Macalu was the house brand of Excel Sports. They definitely offered aluminum frames under the Macalu brand but I'm not familiar with this particular model. They could be bought as bare frames, framesets (i.e. with fork) or with a component kit, with Ultegra being a popular option during this era. Value is going to be highly dependent on the exact Easton tubeset and the cosmetic and mechanical condition, so pictures would be appreciated.
