Mongoose Iboc Sport SX ~1994

I have a Mongoose Iboc Sport SX bike manufactured around 1994. It has got Cro-Mo double-butted steel frame. As most parts of it has been replaced at least once, original parts remain: the frame, handlebar, stem, rims, spokes, front hub, brakes, integrated brake levers and gear shifters, and the front derailleur (which has a lot of play and should have been replaced a long time ago). It has a drivetrain that was replaced a year ago. As the bike is quite a decent young timer, but mostly not original, and I am planning to buy a new bike very soon, I do not know what to do with it. Should I find a vintage bike aficionado to sell it for a symbolic price to them or plainly scrap it?

Not that much love for 1990s Mongoose bikes from aficionados. Instead, it would likely sell to someone that wants an affordable bike.

No need to scrap, but not a collectors piece either. I had one that I donated to the local bike co-op. Original parts don't really matter, what does matter is cosmetic condition of bike and how well everything works. 24 year old integrated shifters are closing in on end of life.

Round up a decent used FD, tune it up, clean it up and sell it.
